Denise Kupferschmidt recieved her B.F.A. from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, MA. She has shown work and participated in group installations at The Green Street Gallery and James Hull Gallery in Boston, and 13hundred Gallery in Cleveland, OH. She currently lives and works in New York. Denise says, "My work is a combination of fantasy stories I have read as a child and how they inform the way I understand my relationship with God. Often the line between fantasy and religion can be vague; my work becomes a blend of characters, images, storylines, and symbols that are all culled from different sources (holy texts, fantasy novels, religious iconography), creating a general, more fantastical idea of divineness and spirtuality.
